re:innovation takes Poland: Building a hub for regional growth

Over the past few years, re:innovation has worked increasingly closely with retailers and manufacturers across Central and Eastern Europe. Through these projects, one direction became consistently clear: Poland stood out as a market where operational complexity, retail maturity, and the pace of modernization converged. The need was no longer just for regional support, but for a dedicated local presence.

Our expansion into Poland was not driven by a single decision or a checkbox on a market-entry list. It emerged naturally, through collaboration with professionals who share our way of working, our rigor, and our belief that real transformation only happens when strategy and execution move together.

“Poland was a natural next step for us,” says Bogdan Gross, CEO of re:innovation. “We were already delivering projects in the market and saw both strong demand and long-term potential. At that point, building a local team became the most effective way to support our clients and scale responsibly.”

Why a local team matters

For re:innovation, entering a new market has never been about symbolic presence. In Poland, as in Romania, our focus is on hands-on delivery, deep involvement in client processes, and close collaboration throughout the lifecycle of each project.

“Having local resources who speak the client’s language and understand the cultural and operational context is a major advantage,” explains Bogdan Gross. “These teams are complemented by regional and group-level experts, so we combine local proximity with broader expertise. As project volume and growth potential increase, local support becomes essential - not just for delivery, but for efficient communication and long-term value creation.”

Poland is the first market where we are consolidating our presence in this way, based on projects already delivered or underway, strong growth prospects, and its strategic geographic position for supporting Northern Europe. Other countries will follow, as we continue to build solid local teams where it makes operational sense.

re:innovation Poland: the people behind the expansion

The foundation of re:innovation Poland is a team with complementary backgrounds, shared standards, and a strong execution mindset.

The first step was bringing on Sebastian Pietrzak, a supply chain planning professional with over ten years of experience across Poland and the Netherlands. His career spans retail, pharma, and FMCG - industries that shaped his ability to approach planning both operationally and strategically. With hands-on experience in demand planning and transformation projects, Sebastian plays a key role in supporting our clients’ operational development and in connecting teams across multiple European markets. Shortly after joining, Sebastian completed the full RELEX certification track, setting the benchmark we expect across the team.

He was soon joined by Klas Joar Benngård, based in Warsaw since 2019, with professional roots in Sweden. With more than a decade of experience in international organizations, over five of them in supply chain and retail, Joar brings a highly pragmatic approach to process optimization. He has worked directly with RELEX from business roles in projects across Sweden and Poland, contributing to reduced manual work and increased automation. His strong data orientation, from Power BI to Python, VBA, and advanced reporting tools, allows him to bridge business requirements and technical execution seamlessly.

The team was further strengthened by Alona Miciula, who brings over twelve years of experience in supply chain and logistics. Her background combines deep process understanding with strong system expertise. From e-commerce - where she worked with RELEX as an end user- to industrial manufacturing, Alona has coordinated implementations, upgrades, and support for complex planning and scheduling systems, including S&OP solutions and group-level integrated applications. Her experience working with international teams and training users across multiple countries adds significant value to our regional projects.

Sebastian and Joar have already completed their RELEX certifications, while Alona is currently progressing through the certification journey - reflecting both the team’s strong foundation and the learning pace we expect within re:innovation. “What connects this team is not just technical knowledge,” notes Bogdan Gross. “It’s the way they approach client processes - analytically, realistically, and with a clear focus on results. This is exactly how we deliver projects across all our markets.”

Sebastian, Joar, and Alona each contribute a distinct strength to the Polish team: strategic planning vision, deep technical structure, and the ability to translate data and business context into scalable solutions. Together, they form a core of competence that allows us to deliver in Poland with the same quality and predictability our clients expect from re:innovation in Romania and across the region.

“We are always looking for ‘purple people’ - professionals who combine technical expertise with business understanding and strong communication skills,” says Bogdan Gross. “The Poland team reflects this DNA perfectly: people who can translate complexity into clear, client-specific solutions.”

Strategic direction for Poland

In recent years, Poland has become one of the most dynamic markets in Central Europe. Large retailers are investing heavily in modernization, while operational pressure and diverse commercial models create a real need for robust systems and specialized consulting.

For re:innovation, Poland is not a short-term opportunity, but a strategic pillar. It is a mature enough market to demand real value and a high delivery standard, while still evolving fast enough to benefit from our experience in complex implementations.

We are not entering the market with a symbolic structure, but with a fully operational local team capable of managing end-to-end projects. Our presence in Poland strengthens our regional delivery model and deepens our collaboration with RELEX - bringing consulting, implementation, and continuous improvement together.

In the months ahead, our focus is not only on growing the team, but on consolidating a competence hub that serves both local clients and regional initiatives. The Poland expansion is not the beginning of a new market - it is the foundation of a broader structure designed to generate long-term, sustainable impact.
