OG Elektra, one of Estonia’s leading grocery retail and food production companies, has partnered with re:innovation and RELEX Solutions to advance the way its supply chain is planned and executed across its store network. The initiative focuses on transitioning from manual store ordering to automated forecasting and replenishment across the Grossi Toidukaubad grocery chain. The goal is to improve coordination between stores and distribution operations, enhance product availability, and reduce waste across the network.
Operating a large network of neighborhood grocery stores, OG Elektra runs an integrated value chain that spans from production to retail. As the business continued to grow, maintaining consistent availability and operational efficiency became more difficult, especially with planning processes heavily dependent on manual input and limited system integration.
Moving toward automated, data‑driven planning
Through the implementation of RELEX Solutions, OG Elektra is introducing a more structured and centralized approach to supply chain planning. The platform enables store‑level demand forecasting and improves synchronization between distribution centers and stores, while also accounting for factors such as shelf life and demand variability.
“OG Elektra has always focused on delivering quality products at competitive prices through strong control of our value chain,” said Gea Gross, Retail Strategy and Development Lead at OG Elektra. “As we continue to grow, we need planning processes that support that growth. With RELEX, we can automate ordering, improve availability, and manage our operations more efficiently across the value chain.”
Implementation supported by re:innovation
The project is being delivered together with re:innovation, which is responsible for implementation and ensures the solution is aligned with OG Elektra’s operational setup and long‑term development plans.
“OG Elektra’s integrated value chain creates real planning complexity that a generic solution simply cannot address,” said Bogdan Gross, CEO & Founder of re:innovation. “Working with RELEX, we are bringing automation and forecasting precision to every layer of that chain, so OG Elektra’s teams can focus on running great stores rather than managing ordering manually.”
Strengthening operations in a competitive grocery market
The Estonian grocery market is highly competitive, with strong pressure on retailers to balance availability, cost efficiency, and waste reduction. By shifting to automated forecasting and replenishment, OG Elektra aims to improve inventory control, streamline day‑to‑day operations, and support more consistent execution across its store network.
“Estonia has a competitive grocery market, and with Grossi Toidukaubad, OG Elektra has built a strong position in it,” said Jason Berry, SVP EMEA at RELEX Solutions. “With RELEX, they will be able to take the friction out of daily replenishment decisions and put better availability and inventory control within reach across every store.”
The collaboration represents an important step in OG Elektra’s efforts to scale its operations while maintaining operational control and consistency. By adopting automated, data‑driven planning processes, the company is strengthening its ability to respond to demand fluctuations, optimize inventory, and support continued expansion across its network.
