With a nationwide network of over 80 Grossi Toidukaubad grocery stores, OG Elektra operates a vertically integrated business covering food production, logistics, distribution, and retail. As the network expanded, managing demand, inventory, and store‑level availability across a highly distributed footprint became increasingly complex. To support ongoing growth while maintaining affordability, freshness, and consistency, OG Elektra needed a more transparent, data‑driven, and scalable planning approach.
From Manual Store Ordering to Automated Replenishment
Before the transformation, key operational activities such as store ordering and replenishment relied heavily on manual processes. Limited visibility across stores and distribution centers, combined with the operational complexity of grocery retail - especially fresh and fast‑moving categories - made forecasting accuracy and inventory optimization difficult to scale in a consistent way.
Manual ordering placed a significant burden on store teams and limited the organization’s ability to proactively respond to demand fluctuations, seasonal patterns, and supply chain constraints. As the business continued to grow, reducing manual effort while improving coordination between stores and the distribution center became a critical priority.
